THE EU AND YOU

The EU wants to enforce the sole use of the metric system even on imports into Europe. The US refused point blank unless all EU exports to the US were in solely Imperial units. The EU has said that it will not enforce the metric system on the UK but now that the Lisbon Treaty has been signed the EU Commission can change its mind without consulting our parliament.

Gordon Brown has said that the pint and the mile are safe but he has not repealed the law requiring the UK to go fully metric.

We all contribute at least something like £1,000 cash each year to Brussels in direct costs.

This does not include paying £4 for a piece of fish with your chips instead of £1.50, the extra time and cost of having to travel further to your Post Office, licences and fees for what was once free or the £1,000 fines for petty infringements of the new EU laws.

In 1997 Peter Mandelson claimed that the EU put £20 extra on a family’s food bill. Margaret Beckett agreed it has increased massively since and is due to increase much more.

Ted Heath made a secret deal with the French so sacrifice the UK fishing fleet to the advantage of France. This was in exchange for France not hindering Heath’s plot to trick the UK into joining the EU. The UK is now only allowed some 7% of the North Sea fishing while France gets 78%.

The fortune we pay for the common agriculture Policy goes to bolster the French farmers vote and is impoverishing and bankrupting British Farmers.

The British fishing industry has only 20,000votes and is therefore not significant – Edward Heath when British Prime Minster of Britain.

Giscard d’Estaing (former French Premier) admitted in 2007, the terms of its proposals (the Lisbon Treaty) are largely the same; they are simply put in a different way so that the new text will not look like the constitution.

The Nations of Europe should be guided towards a supranational state without their people realising what is happening. This can be achieved by small steps each disguised as having an economic purpose but which will eventually and irreversibly lead to a federation(this is the true Salami Technique) Jean Monnet- known as the father of the EU
