NF GAIN MAJOR
PUBLICITY IN READING

The National Front gained major publicity in Reading when we applied to counter demonstrate against Reading gay pride Mardi Gras.
The local organiser applied for a peaceful counter demonstration, and permission was granted. Since then numerous opponents have crawled out to spread lies about our intended protest. The local press said that we intended to block the parade, and that we originally intended to protest at the local train station! Neither of which is true. The mear mention that the National Front was going to turn up sent shockwaves across Reading. The BBC ran two articles warning of a "far-right" demonstration in the town.
Members of Reading’s Jamaican Association and Unite Against Fascism look set to protest. Jamaican Association member, Whitley dad Dave Gordon, 47, said he was furious that the NF was coming to Reading. He remembered the protests against the NF in the seventies when it campaigned against an inter-racial Britain.
Tom Ramplin, from Unite against Fascism, added, the local U.A.F group have launched an open letter condemning the National Front’s bigotry. When groups like Unite Against Fascism talk about hatred, they are the ones that hate, they hate anybody that does not agree with their anti-White, and anti-British agenda.
One local organiser for “Reading Pride” also condemned the National Front protest and said "it is like pouring petrol on a bonfire", and that the NF should have no right to protest. The local Reading newspaper also ran two stories on the NF’s intended protest.
If the NF can achieve this publicity by street protests, then this gives us a good idea of just how worried the Establishment is in regards to the NF putting a presence on the streets.
