Leigh-on-Sea Electoral Fraud Update

Terry Davis, a Leigh-on-Sea resident who exposed a flaw in the electoral system, has had a local MP speak up for him in the House of Commons.

Terry could still face charges after exposing the holes in the system more than seven weeks ago. Southend council sent Mr Davis the five voting cards, for the police and crime commissioner elections without checking if the names he registered were real, or even why there was suddenly five foreign sounding names registered to an address that for years has only had single occupancy.

There was never any intention to use the cards, Mr Davis handed them straight to the local Echo paper. The police were unable to confirm whether the investigation into his actions was ongoing or had been dropped.
